Last Day of School!

Today is the last day of school for children in Fayetteville!  Summer vacation begins and soon many children will be off to camp and other adventures these next two months.  Sometimes it feels as if summer never gets here and before you know it, it's already Christmas.  Today we are getting a break from the heat that has been beating down the last few days.

I am looking forward to some new adventures and maybe even finishing up some projects before school starts all over again!

HOPE

On May 22, 2011, an F5 tornado struck Joplin, Missouri, at 5:41pm.
It is hard to put life in perspective, but it is important to always treasure life more than things.  I visited this store last summer.  I had never been to a JOANN store and went with a friend.  On May 22, 2011, an F5 tornado struck the town of Joplin, Missouri.  It was a Sunday at 5:41 pm.
I was able to drive through the town on May 30, 2011, on our way back home from spending time at a high school reunion for my husband.
It is hard to express with words the devastation and loss that this tornado caused to this town.  The only way I can even relate to the devastation is only having been to this store last summer and remembering what the store actually looked like before this happened.  This picture was taken as we were driving through the town.
I did not get a photograph of the front of the high school sign, but it was temporarily named HOPE high school.  It wasn't till a week later that I realized the high school is actually named Joplin high school.  The "OP" were the only letters in Joplin that were not taken in the tornado.  Someone had used duct tape add the letters "H" and "E".  It will take a long time for this town to recover, but the town of Joplin, Missouri has a lot of "HOPE".
Please keep the town of Joplin, Missouri in your prayers.
